Discovering Thimphu and its Cultural & Natural Wonders
After you are done with your breakfast, you will do sightseeing the Thimpu city the whole day. The total allocated time for the sightseeing tour is 6 to 7 hours. At first, we begin with a tour to a large 169 ft. statue of Lord Buddha facing the beautiful valley, the statue is called Buddha Dordenma Statue.
Then, we move towards exploring a holy Buddhist stupa National Memorial Chorten. It is the stupa where locals come and pray. Also, meditate for their spiritual awakening. Our next place to tour is an ancient folk museum in Thimphu that is Folk Heritage museum showcasing rural life of Bhutanese people. Sacred Hike to Tiger’s Nest & Paro Exploration
The third day of the Bhutan tour, we hike to Taktsang Monastery which is also known as Tiger’s Nest. Tiger’s Nest is one of the most iconic destination to hike in Bhutan. It is hike that distances about 4 kilometers uphill and almost 2 hours away from the starting point.
All trail through dense pine forests to the Cliffside Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery, we reach at an altitude of 3,120 meters above the sea level. The famous stories and legends of this area say that Guru Rinpoche did some meditation here on a tigress that used to fly.
After we come back walking the trail downhill, we will enjoy the lunch and again set off to explore the Paro Valley’s cultural legacies like Kyichu Lhakhang.
