DAY Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu ( Alt. 1300 m )

You will be picked up from Tribhuvan International Airport ( TIA ). Transfer to hotel, Kathmandu’s renowned and excellent hotel will best facilitate your overnight stay. Check in and rest. If time is on our hand , we can involve you in activities like evening holy Sandhya Aarati at Pashupatinath temple. We might assist you for the final preparation to Kailash Mansarovar journey. We can guide you through your shoppings and requirements. Dinner at the same hotel and a good rest.

DAY 02

Drive from Kathmandu to Kerung ( Alt. 2900 m )

Following the route that integrate Trishuli , Dhunche and Syafrubesi , Kerung is almost 175 k m away from Kathmandu. We will perform to a schedule of an early morning drive to Kerung. You will be served with packaged breakfast on the way to Kerung. You will take your Lunch at Nepal – China border , with the blend of Nepalese and Chinese food.

A short 10 min walk across the border , we need to cross a bridge. When done with all the immigration formalities and custom requirements , Chinese guide and bus drivers will process us through journey to Kerung. Arrival at Kerung, overnight stay at the hotel. Rest and preparation.

DAY 03

Uphill drive from Kerung to Shigatse

An uphill drive of almost 390 km with the serene view of Tibetan mountains and landscapes  showing how beautiful a long drive can be when you are marching towards a beautiful city Shigatse through Tingri which is situated at 4300 m above the sea level. On the way, you will see sheer fantastic Gyatchu La (Gyatso La pass) (5220 m). Rest well with an overnight stay at a hotel in Shigatse.

DAY 04

Shigatse to Lhasa through Gyantse

An early morning travel to Panchen Lama’s Tasilhumpu monastery will keep your mind in a good state for the day. Then, a beautiful drive to Gyanste. You can visit Phalkor monastery and Kumbum stupa, pray and collect the blessings.

You will be driven to Lhasa crossing Karola pass (5000 m) and view of great and holy Yamdrok – Tso lake. After you reach Lhasa, overnight stay at a renowned hotel and then rest well for the next day, Lhasa Day.

DAY 05

Sightseeing tour to Lhasa

Another day in Lhasa

The sixth day, is for exploring more places to visit in Lhasa. The more places like Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka park, Tibet museum, Kora (Circumambulation) around Ganden and Gelugpa monastery. We will visit Traditional Tibet hospital as well.

DAY 07

Lhasa to Shigatse (Alt. 3900m)

After you take your breakfast we will launch ourselves in the vehicle for a pleasant drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. We will have great views of Khamba La pass, colorful Yomdrok Tso lake , Mount Nazin Kang Sa , Karo La pass etc. on the way to Shigatse. Transfer, Check in and rest at the hotel overnight.

DAY 08

Shigatse to Saga ( Alt. 4450 m )  

This 9 – 10 hrs drive to Saga from Shigatse is going to be a long driving day for Kailash Mansarovar journey. This land of Tibet passing the long drive is full of dusty , gritty and rugged experience. On the way , the sight of many sheep and yaks will freshened the unblemished scenery and by the dusk , you will come across Brahma Putra River that marks you have arrived to an imposing Tibetan town Saga. You will spend the night in Saga with a comforting overnight stay.

DAY 09

Reach to Lake Mansarovar ( Alt. 4558 m )

This 500 km drive to reach Lake Mansarovar from Saga is the longest driving day of the Kailash Mansarovar journey with joyful moments and exciting experience to see sheep and yaks grazing on the shores of various rivers. DAY 10

Puja and drive to Tarchen / Darchen ( Alt. 4565 m )

Lake Mansarovar is believed to be the soul of God Brahma in Hinduism. Hindu pilgrims worship this serene natural resource and take a holy dip to gain supernatural feeling. Lord Shiva is believed to have taken regular bath at Lake Mansarovar. This lake is one of the top most highlight and attraction of Kailash Mansarovar journey. DAY 11

Trek to DehraPuk ( Alt. 5000 m )

The eleventh day of Kailash Mansarovar journey is so enthralling as we hide and trek towards DehraPuk through rocky cliffs. The stony cliffs along with captivating waterfalls makes the journey more exciting. The clouds in the sky will imprint itself as Lord Shiva and you will know to be getting all the blessings you need from the Lord himself is so electrifying. The trekking trail is about 18 k m which it takes around 7 – 8 hours. Overnight stay at the guest house in DehraPuk.

DAY 12

Next day of Kailash Parikrama , crossing Dolmo La Pass ( Alt. 5630 m )  , arrive at Juthulpuk

The twelfth day is the second day of Kailash Parikrama and is considered to be the most difficult day of Kailash Mansarovar yatra / journey all the way from Lhasa. Walking uphills up to Dolmo La pass which lies 5630 m above the sea level. We can see Lake Gauri Kunda at the base. By stony and steepy route , we come across the pass and reach the base. Then, by a short walk at flat land to reach Juthulpuk. Parvati Sthal and Gauri Kunda are seen on Day 12 , you will rest your 12th day experience. An overnight stay at guest house in Juthulpuk.

DAY 13

Last day of Kailash Parikrama , and drive to Saga ( Alt. 4450 m )

It is a 3- hour comfortable walk from Juthulpuk to Darchen which will end the Kailash Parikrama. Through the majical views you will be driven back to Saga. Pilgrims fill holy water from the Lake Mansarovar ( Jal , as the sign of purity )  in the bottle.

DAY 14

Drive back to Kerung ( Alt. 2900 m )

Coming by the same route for 5.5 hours of a short drive , you will return back to Kerung from Saga. The 14th day is the terminating day of Kailash Mansarovar journey from Lhasa to stay at Tibet. Overnight stay at the renowned hotel in Kerung.

DAY 15

Cross Nepal – Tibet border and Drive back to Kathmandu ( Alt. 1300 m )

With all the immigration formalities again like on the second day, we thank Tibetan guide and bus drivers for their service. Driving back to Kathmandu through Syafrubesi , Dhunche , Trishuli and Nuwakot. Then, Transfer to hotel, check in and overnight stay in Kathmandu.

The duration of the trek and hardness level of the Kailash Mansarovar trip depends on the height of the destination (altitude) as well. Pilgrims / Travelers usually walk to slow pace when the altitude increases because the level of oxygen declines with the rise in height or altitude.

Steep Climbs

During the Kailash Mansarovar trip , a 3 k m distance can feel and take more duration than a flat 9 k m route. Some trails have the stairs to climb. While climbing the stairs up, pilrgrim / travelers feel difficulty in breathing and tiredness. Coming down the stairs might look easy , but it increases stress on the feet and strain on the knee / leg.

Water Facilities plus Proper hydration
