Near Phedi, there is a small network of Gurung villages which is the bottom portion of this trek. To reach the village of Chhomrong it takes 2 days from that place. you can see the most amazing view of the mountains from Chhomrong through which the trail passes up the Modi Khola Gorge into the heart of the sanctuary.
