The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entrance permit is mandatory for all individuals planning to visit the area, including those who are trekking, mountaineering, or simply hiking in the area. The permit is valid for a maximum of two months and must be obtained before entering the area.

The permit is issued by the local administration and must be obtained in person at their offices. Trekkers and mountaineers can also obtain the permit through authorized trekking agents or at the entrance to the Solukhumbu district. The Everest Base Camp Trek Permit must be presented upon entry, so make sure to have it in hand when traveling.
